Dr. Leong Tiong

Dr Tiong graduated from The University of Adelaide in 2004 and subsequently trained in General Surgery in South Australia. He obtained his Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014. Further training in Dr Tiong’s sub-specialty interest of Breast and Endocrine Surgery was undertaken with Fellowships at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Adelaide, Mater Hospital Brisbane and Liverpool Hospital Sydney between 2015-2017. During that time, he was also trained in oncoplastic breast surgery techniques and head and neck surgery. 

Dr Tiong’s interests include: 


• Benign and malignant diseases 

• High risk familial cancers e.g. risk reducing therapies for BRCA 1 & 2 carriers 


• Thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal gland disorders (including retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy and trans-oral endoscopic thyroidectomy) 

Head & Neck 

• Submandibular and parotid gland disorders 

• Thyroglossal and branchial cysts/fistulae 

General Surgery 

• Herniae (inguinal, femoral, umbilical, ventral and incisional) 

• Skin cancers (SCC, BCC and melanoma) 

• Gall bladder and appendiceal disorders 

• Vasectomy, circumcision, skin lumps/bumps and carpal tunnel release 

• Emergency abdominal surgery e.g. bowel obstruction, viscus perforation 

Surgical Oncology 

• Splenectomy, lymph node biopsy and infusaport insertion/removal
